Reading Festival, Friday 27th – Sunday 29th August
Richfield Avenue, Reading


The world’s oldest popular music festival and one of the best, the Reading Festival is back this year with a killer line-up featuring the likes of Arcade Fire, The Libertines and Dizzee Rascal as well as classics like Guns n’ Roses.


If you’ve got tickets and haven’t thought about where to stay yet but want an alternative to camping, the Best Western Reading Moat House has standard double rooms for only £59 per night on a room only basis and is a short bus ride from the festival site.


Leeds Festival, Friday 27th August - Sunday 29th August
Bramham Park, Leeds


Sister to the renowned Reading event, Leeds Festival has pulled in an impressive line up this year, which includes Blink 182, Mystery Jets and The Maccabees. Set in the picturesque Bramham Park, the festival provides an excuse to chill out and enjoy three days of fantastic acts in a relaxing location.


If you’re looking for a good deal on somewhere to stay, try the Met Hotel. It currently has rooms from £59 per night for a standard double room on a bed and breakfast basis and is the perfect location for picking up the shuttle bus to the festival site.


Jersey Live Festival, Saturday 4th - Sunday 5th September
The Royal Jersey Showground, Trinity, Jersey


Not to be forgotten, the beautiful Jersey hosts one of the highlights of the late festival season at Jersey Live. Set in the exclusive grounds of the Royal Jersey Showground, this year’s event features some cracking acts, including Groove Armada, Calvin Harris and Kate Nash. What better excuse to get over to Jersey and explore this endearing island.


Tickets are available now and cost £84 for an adult weekend ticket and £54 for a single day pass. Kids’ tickets are reasonably priced at £10 and £5 respectively, which raises funds for charity.

Stay at the Norfolk Lodge Hotel from £87 per night for asuperior twin or double room on a bed and breakfast basis and you’ll even get a balcony and scenic view.


Bestival, Thursday 9th – Sunday 12th September
Robin Hill, Isle of Wight


Bestival is one of the last festivals of the summer and one of the most eagerly awaited amongst regular festival goers for its fun, laid back and quirky style.  

With a fantasy fancy dress theme, the chance to get married in the Inflatable Church and a Pamper Lounge to nurse sore heads, Bestival caters for an eclectic mix of revellers. The line up this year includes Ellie Goulding, The Prodigy and Hot Chip to name a few.

Tickets are sold out but if you managed to bag one but haven’t sorted out where you’re staying we’ve found you a great deal. Book a standard double room at The Wellington Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis from just £110.

Offset Festival, Saturday 4th – Sunday 5th September  
Hainault Forest Country Park, Redbridge, London


Marrying exciting new bands with the artists they took inspiration from, the Offset Festival is a fascinating event off the beaten festival track.


Set in the magical Hainault Forest just half an hour outside of London, this year’s event will bring a selection of great acts to the stage – including Mystery Jets, Liquid Liquid and Chrome Hoof. Alongside those, festival goers will get to experience a handful of emerging and hotly tipped acts, including Flats, Factory Floor and Male Bonding.


A weekend non-camping ticket is £55 or for those who want to drop by for the day there are single day tickets available for £29. For the non-campers, grab a great deal at the nearby Sleeping Beauty Motel with an en-suite twin bedroom on a bed and breakfast basis from £45.


GET AWAY TO A DIFFERENT SCENE


Rock En Seine, Friday 27th – Sunday 29th August 2010
Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, Paris


Set in the historic Château de Saint-Cloud's park just outside Paris, Rock En Seine will welcome around 90,000 people to experience acts including Massive Attack, The Temper Trap and Stereophonics.


There is also a Mini Rock En Seine, designed for kids aged between six and ten with alternative rock acts as well as creative workshops – they’ll go free and it’ll keep them entertained while the adults are busy with the harder rock gigs.


If you’re planning to go along you can grab some great deals on return flights and hotel, flying from London Heathrow to Charles De Gaulle airport and staying in a standard double room at the Novotel Paris Est Hotel on a room only basis from £198 per person.
Stop Making Sense Festival, Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th September

If you’re after something a bit different, why not try the Stop Making Sense Festival in the gorgeous Croatia, set on a woody peninsula with its own private beach. Promising ‘three days of musical anarchy by the sea’ this dance festival is open to party goers and families alike, who are welcomed by the many restaurants in and around the quaint village of Petrčane.


As ever, the festival has a fantastic line up of DJs and bands, with a myriad of musical forms to choose from – including jazz, folk, latin, house, techno, dubstep and electro – so you can’t fail to find something to suit your taste. There are still tickets left at a reasonable £80 per person – and under 12s go free.


If you’re looking for a good deal on somewhere to stay for the two nights, you can book a standard double room at the Hotel Donat from £207.

Berlin Festival, Friday 10th – Saturday 11th September
Tempelhof Airport, Berlin, Germany


Set perhaps unconventionally in the grounds of the Tempelhof airport, the Berlin Festival is now in its fifth year and has really found its feet, attracting around 20,000 people who come to experience the best in international pop on three stages.
This year’s event features some fantastic acts including Editors, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem and Fever Ray.


Tickets are still available for €59 or from £49 on lastminute.com along with some great deals on return flights and accommodation. Fly from Luton airport to Schoenefeld Airport and stay in a standard single or double room at the Excelsior Hotel Berlin on a room only basis from £129 per person.

Iceland Airwaves, Wednesday 13th – Sunday 17th October  
Various venues, Reykjavik, Iceland

Held across the Icelandic capital, the Iceland Airwaves Festival is in its ninth year and has really grown up since its first year in an airplane hangar. Featured acts this year include Agent Fresco, Blood Group and Factory Floor to name a fraction and there is set to be a following of revellers keen to join the exclusive DJ sets and infamous after show parties.


A must-do for keen festival goers, Iceland Airwaves will definitely give you bragging rights with your pals and an opportunity to branch out into the European festival scene.


Tickets are still available for 80 Euros and those who want to stay one step up from the campsite but still get a great deal can get return flights from London Heathrow to Reykjavik and a standard double or twin room at the CenterHotel Plaza Hotel on a bed and breakfast basis from £288 per person.
