Organising hen parties may sometimes be as stressful as the wedding, whether the bride is organising it herself, or has left it to the trusty maid of honour - you want something fun and different. 


Going out and getting drunk are now a thing of the past with more and more offerings to do something a little calmer, without the chance of having your dignity lost before the big day.

Canoe and shoe party


Only book if you're the outdoors-type, this activity requires some stamina. 


The New Forest Activities Centre, near Southampton offers a number of different packages for Hens, choose the one to best suit you. 

The canoe and shoe party offers a two-hour guided canoeing or kayaking session on the Beaulieu River which is followed by a shopping trip to Lymington. You then have a shoe party brought to your chosen accomodation - shoes brought to your front door. What more could a lady ask for? 


The activity centre also offer the package, Paddle to the Pub. Which does exactly what it says - a three or four trip discovering the Beaulieu River with a stop at the pub for some drinks or food.

Cookery School 


A lot more relaxed compared with the above. The cookery school is run by husband and wife - Holly and David Jones. Their picture perfect home was built specially for this purpose. 


A huge selection of food types to choose from, including bread making, fish, asian and mediterranean cooking. You can tailor the day to your specifics or pick from the list provided. 


The relaxed atmosphere means you spend quality time with the other hens, in the beautiful location of Devon. 


The day is finished with your own prepared lunch on the decking with plenty of fizz to go around.

Spa Cruise


The ultimate indulgence for a hen party. This spa cruise will leave you feeling like a millionaire and will do nothing but turn heads as you step aboard the luxury 80ft yacht, Triple Seven. 


Aboard the yacht the pamper day includes a full-body massage or a facial, you can sip drinks and take in the stunning views that are littered across the South West's stunning coasts. 


It departs from Torquay and travels to The Cary Arms, where lunch will be served. 


There is also the opporuntiy to soak in the hot-tub which is on the Triple Seven whilst she lies at anchor. 


The day is finished with with high tea on boards, as the Triple Seven returns to port in Torquay.

The Papered Parlour


This is the trip for the creative type, who want something to take home and show the family. The vintage craft boutique is run by two artists who offer amazing workshops. 


The engaging arts events offer you the chance to make your own wallpaper, contemporary quilting or silversmithing. 


They provide a delicious selection of teas and homemade cakes for you to enjoy. 


The duo also offer the chance to make a fascinator, which is perfect for the wedding so you don't need to buy one and can make it exactly tailored for your taste.

Walking and Cycling 


Another trip for the athletic-type - Compass Holidays offer trips to the Lake District, the Cotswolds and Cornwall for both walking and cycling holidays. 


The break promises to rejuvenate you ahead of the big day, plus has all the offerings of keeping fit and healthy. 


The tour operator promises to offer the most scenic and interesting routes, which are often hid away from conventional tourist tracks.
