A new international streaming platform is set to release as part of Disney+ in select markets, serving as a home to thousands of hours of television and movies from Disney's creative studios, including FX, 20th Century Studios and more.

Star will launch in Europe and other international markets on February 23rd, 2021 as a fully-integrated part of Disney+, with its own branded tile and collections of renowned series, movies, documentaries and more, aiming to more than double the content catalogue available to subscribers.

Its global rollout will continue in other markets, beginning with Singapore on February 23rd, 2021 and Eastern Europe, Hong Kong, Japan and South Korea at a later point in the year.

Though they've left their series behind, the Kardashian Jenners will create brand new content under a multi-year deal, streaming exclusively on Hulu in the US and internationally on Star. They're expected to make their debut in late 2021.

Also premiering on the platform at some point in 2021 are the premium series Only Murders in the Building, The Dropout and Dopesick.

As if that wasn't enough, FX originals including The Old Man, American Horror Stories, Platform, Reservation Dogs and Y: The Last Man will also be available on Hulu and Star.

Award-winning series The Handmaid's Tale has been renewed for a fifth season ahead of its fourth season premiere, whilst Nine Perfect Strangers, starring and executive produced by the one and only Nicole Kidman, debuts in 2021.

FX have ordered four additional series of their hit series It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, making it the longest running live-action sitcom in television history by doing so.

They also revealed they're in development of the first season adaptation of sci-fi horror classic Alien, whilst stating they are in advanced talks for a two-season order of drama series The Stones, based on the world's most enduring rock'n'roll band, The Rolling Stones.

Finally, the company revealed they'll be retelling James Clavell's beloved epic saga Shōgun, set within feudal Japan, in a "sweeping, sophisticated and adult series".
