It’s always hard saying goodbye to Houseguests on a new season of Big Brother Canada, especially so when they didn’t have all that long to make an impact in the House! Fortunately, Melina Mansing made the most of her opportunity, working her way into the hearts of fans despite being evicted first in the series’ groundbreaking tenth season.

Here, we chat to Melina all about her time in the House, who she vibed with, whether she’d go back in if given the opportunity, and more!

First off congratulations on making it into the Big Brother Canada house, as that's no easy task! How did you find the whole process and the experience of being on the show?

Thank you. I’m feeling good. I feel almost relieved as well. I am happy to be home and it was really hard for me, for sure.

Ultimately, Hermon is the reason you've been sent out of the House as he placed you up on the block, so what are your feelings towards him right now?

I have no hate, no anger and, I even told him that. I don’t think, obviously that he believed me! (laughs) I even told him before I left, I was like, ‘This is ALL your fault’, (laughs), you know what I mean?

You went into the House saying that you hate most people which may be hard to hide when you're around new people 24/7 on a show like Big Brother Canada! Was there anybody in the house you really just didn't vibe with from jump and if so, why?

I didn’t vibe with Hermon! When I walked into that HOH room, I was just like, ‘I don’t know what you want me to say right now’ (laughs), do you know what I mean? I cannot read him like, I could not.

On the flip side of that, will you be hoping to keep in touch with any of your fellow Houseguests when the season reaches its conclusion?

Um… I mean, yeah there’s people I liked in there (laughs), you know! I did connect with T, we had really good conversations. Jay, I wish I connected with them more. Jess, I obviously connected with, you know, my venting human! (laughs)

Why do you think it was the easy choice for the House to send you home over Kevin this week?

No, no, I was the hard choice. Did I say that?

I’m sure you said in your interview that you thought the House was choosing you to go because you were the easy choice to go…

No, I said they made the easy choice. They chose Kevin, that was the easy choice. They could’ve chosen me and played a better, fun, more exciting game. Be more uncomfortable, not just like, ‘oh, we’ll get Kevin out next week’.

So why do you think they did that?

Because it’s easy! They were like, ‘oh okay, we’re all basically safe, we’ll just probably put Jess and Kevin up next week and go from there’. But if they’d have saved me, it would’ve been more of a challenge. They just didn’t play a respectful game on Week 1 and that’s fine.

Big Brother Canada has seen some fan favourites go home first in the past. Do you think your public perception will be a good one and are you excited to see what people thought of you in the house?

I am! I wish it was longer so they could see more of me, I really did, especially with the live feeds, missed so much in there and, you know, I just hope that they see me as me, that’s the most important, to be honest.

Big Brother Canada is known for its twists, so if there was a way in which you could get back into the House and compete again, is that an opportunity you would take?

Yeah, I would! Oh my God, please. I was like, begging. Begging! I was like, ‘Come on! Let’s do this!’

I know it's super early but did anybody in the House show you they have what it takes to go all of the way and win this game?

I think so. I do. I think T could probably make it. I do think Hermon could make it. He does play that good, jokester, social, this and this. Kyle, he’s playing that chill game right now… I don’t know!
