Glee is fast becoming the nations favourite TV show - having kicked ass over the pond in the US and now sending UK audiences in a spin with their cover of Don’t Stop Believing, we thought it was only fair to introduce you to the shows stars.
Will Schuester (Matthew Morrison)
Will Schuester is a former star of McKinley High School's Glee Club, the after-school musical club, 'New Directions'. As the new head of McKinley's Glee Club, Will hopes to take his team all the way to Nationals. He is determined to do whatever it takes to make Glee great again, even though everyone around him thinks he's crazy and his skills are often brought into question. Will is also a young, optimistic Spanish teacher who is married to his high school sweetheart, Terri Schuester.
Rachel Berry (Lea Michele)
Rachel Berry is a talented member of McKinley's Glee Club. She is perfectionistic and convinced that the show's choir is her ticket to stardom, in fact, she always puts a gold star after she signs her name because she is sure she will be a star someday. She is often picked on by the popular cheerleaders, the Cheerios and the football team. She is the only child of an interracial same-sex couple. Rachel is interested in musicals, movie musicals, and TV musicals.
Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch)
Sue Sylvester is McKinley's cheerleading coach, where she rules the 'Cheerios' with a rod of iron. She is the mortal enemy of the Glee Club and soon instructs some of her cheerleaders, Quinn, Brittany and Santana to help her bring the club down from the inside. She has an evil side and is willing to go to any ends to get what she wants, including inappropriate behaviour with the kids and manipulation worthy of Machiavelli. She loves being in the press and has her own spot on the local news, which she uses to editorialise on issues such as support for caning and pro-littering.
Terri Schuester (Jessalyn Gilsig)
Terri Schuester is the rather demanding wife of her high school sweetheart, Will Schuester. Soon her perfect marriage is threatened by both Will's involvement in the Glee Club and also the attentions of fellow school employee Emma. She turns to drastic measures to keep her man - and soon developments have spiralled out of control, making her fear that she will lose her man forever and making her actions even more dramatic and damaging. She is fond of crafts and Pottery Barn. She works at Sheets N' Things. Oh and Terri loves roast beef on pumpernickel sandwiches.
Finn Hudson (Cory Monteith)
Finn Hudson is a very popular quarterback on McKinley High School's football team. He is also a member of Glee, which immediately puts him into conflict with the rest of his jocky, football playing buddies. He lives with his single mother and after his father was killed in Operation Desert Storm. His interests include football, singing, hanging out with Quinn, playing football, burps, Halo 3, Call of Duty, Rocky II, sandbox, dreamer. He is involved with a member of the school's cheerleading team the Cheerios, Quinn. But an attraction to another glee member and some deception with his current girlfriend soon make life very complicated for young Finn and he's soon looking to the musical ventures of the Glee Club for escape.
Quinn Fabray (Dianna Agron)
Quinn Fabray is Finn Hudson's girlfriend and is a member of the Cheerios cheerleading team, and President of the Christ Crusaders (aka Celibacy Club). The Cheerios are urged by their leader Sue to destroy Glee at all costs - a task that Quinn, at first, takes to with relish. But this causes a problem when Finn joins the Glee Club - and also when Quinn is forced to keep a secret from her boyfriend and other members of the football team. Soon Quinn is caught between her loyalty to Sue and the Cheerios, her boyfriend and her health.
Mercedes Jones (Amber Riley)
Mercedes Jones is a member of Glee. She is a dynamic diva-in-training who refuses to sing back-up, preferring to be the centre of attention. Mercedes is known to have a temper and can be outspoken at times. She has a flair for fashion and her interests include bling, vocal runs, and being FABULOUS all the time.
