Show biz connoisseur and pop legend, Donny Osmond, is to bring the classic word association game show Pyramid, across the pond to the UK exclusively to Challenge!

Pyramid, the hilarious game show in which players are paired with celebrities to compete in an energetic word game for cash prizes, is to air primetime on Challenge.Confirmed celebrities who will be appearing on the show include Ingrid Tarrant, Tony Blackburn, Carol Smilie and Anne Charleston (best known as Madge in Neighbours)Donny Osmond, who had previously hosted the show in the US for two years, says; “After having hosted Pyramid on American television from 2002-2004, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to bring such an iconic game show to the UK.”He also adds: “Filming has been going great. I hope the viewers will like it. It’s obviously very fast paced. The thing about this show is – yes the contestants win money but it’s more about having a good time too, you know. So there’s lots of laughter. We’ve definitely been having such a fun time with it.” Pyramid features two teams, composed of a celebrity and a contestant, who try to guess a series of words or phrases within a 30 second time limit based on descriptions given to them by their partner.

A contestant can win £1000 if they complete a winner's circle and £3000 if they complete two in the same show. Contestants can defend their place as Pyramid Champions for up to five shows and can win up to £15,000! Top prizes will also be up for grabs such as TV's, Home Cinema Systems and weekend breaks.The opening show of this all-new version of Pyramid will be broadcast on May 7th 2007, so stay tuned.
