Laila Rouass Missing In Morocco

Laila Rouass has quit her 'Strictly Come Dancing' training to visit Morocco.

The actress has angered show bosses after announcing she would be missing three days of training with partner Anton du Beke this week while she jets over to her parent's North African home for a photoshoot.

A show source told Britain's Daily Mirror newspaper: "Anton is furious. For Laila to go now is just madness. This is the week that she could really prove herself as a serious contender but she's done a disappearing act.

She and Anton have made up the hours by practising hard over the weekend. Laila admits she was not really ready for the waltz last week.

"The place is in uproar. People think that at this late stage of the show it really should be her main priority."

Laila flew to the country earlier this week and is due to return tomorrow (26.11.09).

However, a BBC spokesman insists the photoshoot with Morocco's GQ men's magazine had been arranged long in advance.

He said: "All the celebrities have to train a minimum number of hours a week. Laila has arranged her training around her short trip to Morocco and has been working extra hard.

"She and Anton have made up the hours by practising hard over the weekend. Laila admits she was not really ready for the waltz last week."

Earlier this month, the 38-year-old star sprained her ankle before taking to the stage and has been unhappy with her performances since.
