Tony Booth, one of the PM's in laws, is apparently going to appear in soapland soon as a down and out! The 75 year actor will take on the role of the enigmatic tramp named Errol in the Yorkshire based soap Emmerdale.Errol becomes friends with the destressed Bob Hope (Tony Audenshaw) who wonders whether this new homeless character is real, as nobody else can set eyes on him.ITV chiefs disclose that the "magical" footage of the two will bring back memories of the unforgettable film It's A Wonderful Life - which showed a guardian angel coming to the aid of a much bemused man.Tony, who is Cherie Booth's father will shoot seven episodes in April.He's quoted as saying in the Sun:“I’m really looking forward to it — the scripts are terrific.“I hope viewers will warm to my character as much as I have, and be enchanted by his ethereal quality.”Emmerdale's producer Kathleen Beedles also added in the newspaper: “Tony is the perfect choice for this storyline.”

Mr Booth's storyline will be screened in May.
