With the Game of Thrones season five finale breaking hearts all over the world, a significant outpouring of emotion has been unleashed following an episode that truly set its sights on a series' endgame.
Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have broken things down a touch for viewers of the show, allowing fans to digest what happened piece by piece in the cold Game of Thrones universe and seemingly confirming that both Stannis and Jon Snow are dead.
With honourable qualities much like his father Ned Stark, this would be Snow's downfall, and can anybody really say when all is said and done that they are shocked? We're now five seasons in, and if what we've seen to this point was anything to go by, we had to know that nobody in this world is safe.
Game of Thrones will return for its sixth and likely penultimate season next year on HBO and Sky Atlantic.
