Shane Meadows has announced on his website that Channel 4 have given the green light to This Is England '90.
The next installment will follow on from the last series This Is England '86, which proved hugely successful for the channel this year.
Head of Channel 4 drama, Camilla Campbell who commissioned the show accordng to Meadows' website said: “This Is England will be returning to C4. It is a continuation of the same characters four years on, looking at rave culture and the World Cup. Shane is brimming with ideas and we are really excited.”
The move to TV, after the film This is England, gained Meadows more critical acclaim within the industry,
This Is England follows the lives of Sean (Thomas Turgoose) Lol (Vicky McClure) Woody (Joe Gilgun) and Milky (Andrew Shim) as they grow up on a council estate, right in the mdidle of the Thatcher years.
