The 28-year-old actor returned to the long-running soap as former bad boy Steven Beale last year and impressed bosses so much with his portrayal that he's been guaranteed work until next summer with some explosive drama in the pipeline.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Aaron has really impressed Executive Producer Sean O'Connor and they've decided to extend his contract. It's great news for soap fans as this year promises to have lots of drama in store for the character of Steven Beale. Aaron couldn't be happier about the news."

And it seems his contract extension is just one of the many exciting things taking place in Aaron's life right now as he recently announced that his divorce from Grace Isted, with whom he has daughters Matilda, eight, and Isla, five, has been finalised.

Taking to his Twitter account earlier this week, the hunky star said: "After 4 years I'm finally divorced!! Here's to the future. (sic)"

Meanwhile, bosses are remaining tight-lipped on what they have in store for Aaron's alter-ego Steven but it's thought it may have something to do with his girlfriend Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) as recent episodes have seen her growing bored of her beau, whom she started dating after her relationship with his half-brother Peter Beale (Ben Hardy) broke down, and she has been growing close to another man.
