The Geordie duo, both 47, have been on television together for more than 30 years and have jointly fronted shows such as 'I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here' and 'Britain's Got Talent' for ITV but are reportedly set to give fans a peek into what goes on behind the scenes for the first time ever.

A source said: “This is a huge deal. People have grown up with Ant and Dec and their cheeky style means viewers have always felt like they know them.

"But really they’ve always made a clear distinction between their lives on and off camera and kept their private lives relatively out of the limelight. For the first time we’ll see a glimpse of who the lads really are!"

The insider went on to tease that the documentary - which is set to air in the spring - will be "raw and real" as it explores what happens when things go awry in the world of celebrity.

The source told The Sun newspaper: "There’s nothing like seeing a celebrity when they’re under pressure, or when something hasn’t gone to plan - in those cracks are where you find out who someone really is - and that’s going to be the beauty of this project. We’ll even see what they have for breakfast. It’s going to be raw and real and everyone is so excited.”

What's more, the former 'Byker Grove' stars will be joined by the likes of 'Strictly Come Dancing' host Claudia Winkleman , 'This Morning' stars Alison Hammond and Rylan Clark on the upcoming series of 'Saturday Night Takeaway', - which returns to screens on 25 February - with backstage footage from the new block of episodes set to also feature in the new film
