The popular presenting duo have made their names on British TV, but they are now eyeing a move into Hollywood, where they hope to star in their own buddy film.

Ant, 42 - who first starred alongside his close friend on the children's drama series 'Byker Grove' - revealed he'd relish a return to acting, saying: "We love it.

"That's where we started. It is a slightly different discipline for us and it reminds us of being back on 'Byker Grove'."

Despite this, Ant admitted that he isn't ready for an immediate return to acting, having spent a spell in rehab for prescription pills in 2017.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: "Let's not run before we can walk!

"Look, we'd love to do a movie but let's see..."

Meanwhile, it was recently confirmed that Little Ant and Dec have quit 'Saturday Night Takeaway'.

The miniature version of the presenting duo decided to leave the popular variety show as Little Ant (Neil Overend) is moving to secondary school and Little Dec (Haydn Reid) needs to sit his SAT exams in 2019.

At present, there are no plans to replace the pair, but ITV is pleased that the little ones went out on a high last year due to their Walt Disney World finale.

Neil and Hadyn have had the roles for five years after they replaced James Pallister and Dylan McKenna-Redshaw, who played the parts for 10 years, in 2013.
