Apple TV+ is the home of award-winning Apple Originals from today’s most creative storytellers. The streaming service offers premium, intriguing drama, exciting comedy series, feature films, outstanding documentaries, and kids and family entertainment.

The platform launched on November 1st, 2019, and has become a huge hit since then with its incredible selection of content.

The four-part docuseries, which will be produced by A New Slate Ventures and XTR Production, is set to explore the incredible accomplishments and worldwide impact of Johnson’s life, both on the court and off it.

Viewers will see the start of Johnson’s journey, which began in Lansing, Michigan, and will follow him from there to the time he became a five-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Johnson has done many amazing things in his life, including changing the conversation surrounding HIV, and transcended into a community activist and successful entrepreneur.

The show will show never-before-seen footage and interviews with the 62-year-old star; topics such as politics, business and those in his inner circle will be covered, and is set to offer a raw, unfiltered look at one of sport’s best and greatest.

The forthcoming docuseries is set to join a growing line-up of acclaimed and award-winning documentaries, such as Boys StateThe Velvet Underground, Beastie Boys Story, Billie: Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry, Fireball: Visitors from Darker Worlds, and so much more.

Docuseries and documentaries are become much more popular, perhaps due to lockdown last year (2020), when many of us had more time to spend inside with Netflix and other streaming services to keep us entertained.

Shows such as this one are often beloved, as audiences enjoy learning about those who shaped different aspects of media, popular culture and, of course, sports.

The series has no release date as of yet, so keep your eyes open.
