Babatunde Aleshe wants to avoid getting cancelled on I'm A Celebrity

The ‘Celebrity Gogglebox’ star intends to “walk away from any drama” that could potentially break out among his campmates - who include ‘Coronation Street’ legend Sue Cleaver, ex BBC Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles, royal former rugby player Mike Tindall and the disgraced former Health Secretary Matt Hancock - while attempting to survive in the Australian jungle.

The 34-year-old comedian said: “I’d walk away from any drama, I’ve always said I’m like the least famous person here, so I’m not trying to mess up any opportunities.

“So if people want to argue, I’ll let them do that. I’m not getting cancelled yet.”

Babatunde revealed he was approached to feature on the show when it was being filmed in north Wales’ Gywrch Castle - which was a production response to the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions - but he didn’t feel he was “prepared for” it.

He said: “I wasn’t prepared for that. When I was first asked, mentally I was like, 'There’s no way I’d be able to do it,' but when it came back around for this year, I tried to think about it and picture myself in there, it was just a better time.”

Babatunde - who is good friends with fellow comedian Mo Gilligan - warned he will be doing “a lot of screaming” while on the ITV show and he is dreading Bushtucker Trials.

He said: “People are going to get to know me through this show a bit better and I just want to enjoy everything. I don’t want to be King of the jungle.

“I am quite happy to go back to normal life afterwards. But it will be a great adventure and my wife is excited and happy I am doing it.”
