The 'Coronation Street' star and her partner Johannes Radebe became the latest couple to leave the BBC Latin and ballroom dance competition during Sunday's (27.10.19) results show, as they failed to win over the voting public.

Asked what her highlight has been, she said: "[Johannes]. He is like, my best friend. And just ... the opportunity to work with amazing people, and I never thought I'd say this, but I'm going to keep it up. I fell in love with it, and I've loved every second. This man has changed my life."

Whilst an emotional Johannes - who only joined the 'Strictly' team in 2018, and was given a partner for the first time this year - added: "The beautiful thing is ... I need to thank 'Strictly Come Dancing' for the opportunity. Thank you.

"I want to say thank you to this woman, she has been a light for me. Thank you for accepting me for who I am, and for showing me joy every day."

Catherine, 36, was up against sports presenter Mike Bushell and his partner Katya Jones in the dreaded dance-off after they both received the fewest public votes, and the judging panel - made up of Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas, and Bruno Tonioli - ultimately voted to keep Mike in the competition.

Craig voted to save Mike, and after both Motsi and Bruno wanted to see Catherine stay on the show, head judge Shirley agreed with Craig and saved Mike.

As Shirley has the deciding vote, Mike was saved and Catherine was sent home, despite each star getting two votes.

Speaking as she cast her vote, Shirley said: "Well I thought both couples really stepped it up a notch, and this is always the most difficult decision for me. But based on a good focus, difficult content, with some really beautiful footwork in there, with stronger technical skills, and for me cleaner and polished - I'm going to save Mike and Katya."

'Strictly Come Dancing' will return next Saturday (02.11.19).
