The 39-year-old dancer - who lives in Frankfurt - is said to have signed up for the live shows of Germany's 'Strictly', which could clash with the upcoming UK series of the Latin and ballroom programme.

Appearing on ITV's 'Lorraine', judge Craig said: "I read that and I think she'd be absolutely mad, darling, doing a German tour rather than 'Strictly'.

"And, like I do in panto - I take the Saturdays off in order to do panto during the week.

"As long as you can get here for the Saturday and it's safe to travel, then she'd be absolutely fine to do both, I'd say."

The BBC is planning for this year's series after the 2020 edition was very different due to coronavirus restrictions, but Craig is hoping his fellow panellist Bruno Tonioli will be able to travel from the US to appear in the studio this time round.

He added: "We're hoping that Bruno comes back, we really do want him there in the seat - whether he stays in the seat or not, because he's generally up and down like a yo-yo.

"Of course we want him back. And if he can't come back then he will do what he did last time due to restrictions and just do live across the feed to the studio, which was great fun as it was anyway.

"I'm really looking forward to it. I think the BBC did an amazing job - and they have protocols in place for every single situation. You will get 'Strictly', and a much fuller version this year."

And the 56-year-old dancer revealed he'd also love to see another same-sex pairing this year after Nicola Adams and Katya Jones performed together last time.

He said: "I'd love to see a male one or another girl one. It doesn't bother me, as long as people are dancing together. And who knows? You may even see them on the 'Strictly' tour!"A BBC spokesperson has suggested the broadcaster still expects Motsi to return for the new series of 'Strictly', which starts in September.

The spokesperson said: "Motsi will be doing the next series, we will be working out the schedule as we have done in the past."
