The 83-year-old star has hailed the 'Friends' actor as "the most famous person" to step into the tent for the upcoming Stand Up to Cancer special, and he was laser focused on emerging victorious.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "He must have been the most famous person we had in the tent. And I was very excited about it.

"I thought he'd be like he was in 'Friends', but he was actually very concentrated and didn't want to talk to anybody.

"He just wanted to get on baking and he badly wanted to win."

However, she admitted: "He loosened up after a while."

Despite keeping quiet early on, David still impressed Prue with his work ethic.

She added: "I was very, very impressed. He turned out to be much more [knowledgeable] about food than I thought he'd be. He was great."

He will appear on this weekend's special alongside Little Mix's Jesy Nelson, Olympic diver Tom Daley, comedian Rose Matafeo, 'Loose Women' star Coleen Nolan, TOWIE's Gemma Collins, 'Top Gear' host Paddy McGuinness, and TV presenter Adele Roberts.

David, 56, recently opened up about his decision to join the show.

He explained: "I lost a grandmother to cancer, my daughter lost a grandmother to cancer and my sister is a cancer survivor, so it's important to me.

"I am just grateful I can help in any small way raise more awareness.

"I am here to have fun. I am here to raise money for a great charity. It's a great cause and I happen to be a massive fan of the show."

'Celebrity Great British Bake Off for Stand Up To Cancer' airs Sunday (19.03.23) at 7.45pm on Channel 4.
