Danny Dyer thought Lee MacDonald was going to "hit him" while they were filming their 'EastEnders' scenes.
The former 'Grange Hill' actor will guest star as Terry, a London bus driver, this week and his character will go up against Danny Dyer's alter-ego Mick Carter in a radio competition to try to win concert tickets.
And Lee has revealed Danny was worried the 50-year-old star was going to physically punch him during their characters' on-screen confrontation.
He told the Daily Star newspaper: "It's funny because when we did that scene, Danny said afterwards that he thought I was going to hit him.
"For Danny to say something like that is pretty cool! It's because I was so serious.
"Not that I would ever punch him. Have you seen the size of him? He's massive! I'm only tiny.
"I actually met my partner Jess on a dating site and lied about my height.
"When she turned up she was like, 'You are not 5'7". I was like this little dwarf, all 5'5 of me."
While Lee is glad to be getting the opportunity now, his goal is to have a "longer stint" on the show.
He said: "A longer stint in 'EastEnders' would be the dream. I'd feel like I'd won the lottery."
Lee recently admitted he should have tried to land a role in Albert Square in the past.
He previously said: "When I left 'Grange Hill', 'EastEnders' had just moved to the 'Grange Hill' studios. My one regret is that I didn't introduce myself to the casting director."
