Danny Dyer's children tell him off for swearing.

The 42-year-old actor is known for his potty mouth, but has said that his children - Dani, 23, Sunnie, 12, and Arty, five, whom he has with wife Joanne Mas - love to point out when he's losing control of his language.

Danny insists that because he can't swear often when he's spending his days filming BBC soap 'EastEnders', he has to "get it out of [his] system" at home, or he builds up a "serious case of Tourette's" - a condition in which a person cannot control the repetitive movements or unwanted sounds they make, which can sometimes include swearing.

He said: "I've got to get it out of my system. I can't do it at work and they (my kids) pull me on it. They'll go 'Dad, you're swearing again!'

"I'll be watching football, the other night I was watching the results come in for the Cup and we lost and I was upset [and swore].

"They are well brought up kids, they go to good schools, they are articulate."

The 'Wall' host says his children have been brought up very differently to how he was raised, and insists his two youngest kids are definitely "middle class".

He added: "[Sunnie] is a lovely kid, very smart, very switched on. A very middle class kid. [She and Arty] both are. It's mad, they came from me but they're really well spoken, it's crazy to me."

Danny displayed his colourful language in full during his acceptance speech at the National Television Awards in January, when host Dermot O'Leary was forced to apologise to viewers for his choice of words.

But the star insists he was just trying to prevent himself from crying.

Speaking during an appearance on 'The Jonathan Ross Show' - which airs on Saturday (05.10.19) - he said: "I did swear but I was very emotional. I'm trying to cut down on it. I nearly started to cry, it was an emotional thing for me, I don't know why and so I swore just to ... I'm an emotional man.

"I tried to counter-balance it and be all alpha male when really I just wanted to sob my heart out in front of 10,000 people."
