BBC Worldwide have confirmed plans to screen the 'Doctor Who' 50th anniversary episode in more than 400 cinemas across multiple countries around the globe.
The special episode, which will feature former stars David Tennant, Jenna-Louise Coleman and Billie Piper as well as current Time Lord Matt Smith, will be screened in 3D at cinemas across the UK, Ireland, the US, Canada, Germany and Russia.
The screenings will take place at the same time as the UK TV broadcast on BBC One on November 23 2013, giving fans a unique opportunity to be part of the global celebration for the iconic British series.
A total of 216 VUE, Cineworld, Odeon, BFI and Picturehouse cinemas in the UK have so far confirmed their participation with tickets set to go on sale this Friday October 25 at 9am.
The episode, entitled 'The Day of the Doctor', will be shown in London, Birmingham, Belfast, Dublin, Liverpool, Cardiff and Edinburgh.
For fans of the Doctor in Australia and New Zealand, there will be a choice of 106 cinemas across the two countries where the episode will also be shown in 3D the following day.
Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary weekend will also see more than 20,000 fans gather at London's ExCel centre for the official celebration event which will feature appearances from cast old and new.
