The 30-year-old mother-of-three has confessed she had to encourage her children and the rest of her family to lie so as to not reveal she had won the competition - which is filmed in the summer - until the result was revealed in last night's (07.10.15) final.

She explained: "They all knew that I'd won. I just trained them to be compulsive liars now. I might need therapy to fix myself now because it has been months of just lying and training my poker face and making sure I don't give it away because it's such a big secret to keep."

Nadiya also revealed she's been hiding her 'Bake Off' trophy under her bed at her home in Leeds for the past three months.

Speaking on 'The Chris Evans Breakfast Show' on BBC Radio 2, she shared: "I only got it out yesterday at nine o'clock, after the show, just in case somebody saw it. It was wrapped in newspaper and then I did a Russian doll thing where I put it in a suitcase, in a suitcase, in a suitcase and then hid it under my bed at the end of June and it's only just come out."

And while millions of viewers tuned in to watch Nadiya beat Tamal Ray and Ian Cumming to be crowned winner while tucking into sweet treats, Nadiya has admitted her own family had a night off from baking.

She added: "I've had enough now. Just for one night I didn't bake any cakes ... My mum just cooked lots of curry."
