It's official: Heartstopper WILL be returning to Netflix for not just a second season, but a third season, too!

Based on the original graphic novels, written and illustrated by Alice Oseman, the show saw huge success upon its debut, thanks to its incredibly realistic portrayal of youngsters in the modern age, exploring their lives and discovering their identities. Oseman will return as writer and creator on the show.

Since its debut in April 2022, weekly book sales of Heartstopper have increased by 1700% in the United States, with Volume 1 currently at the top of the Young Adult fiction book charts, as well as featuring on the New York Times bestseller list.

The series stands strong with a 100% critic rating on reviews aggregate website Rotten Tomatoes, meaning it is 'Certified Fresh', whilst lead talents Kit Connor and Joe Locke have both exploded on socials, sitting with 3.4 million and 2.5 million followers respectively. They both had just over 100,000 a month prior to launch.

That influence extends to TikTok, where the #Heartstopper has now amassed over 4.3 billion views and of course, where it most counts on Netflix, the series reached the Top Ten list in 54 countries.

Heartstopper Season 1 is available to stream now, exclusively on Netflix.
