TV chef Heston Blumenthal has married for the third time

The Michelin-starred ‘Heston’s Feasts’ star, 56, got hitched to French entrepreneur Melanie Ceysson, 36, in her homeland on Saturday. (25.03.23)

Their wedding was in a village wedding hall in Provence – the area that inspired Heston, who is famed for recipes including snail porridge, exploding puddings and egg-and-bacon flavoured ice cream – to take up cooking.

According to the Daily Mail, the couple held a reception at their nearby house for around 60 guests, including Heston’s fellow TV chef Raymond Blanc, 73, as well as former BBC director-general Lord Birt, 78, and ‘Great British Menu’ judge Matthew Fort, 76.

Raymond told the newspaper: “Ever since Heston did an all-too-brief week in my kitchen, I’ve loved his fire and creativity. Over the years he’s helped me improve, and I hope I’ve also helped him. That’s our special bond, so, of course, I had to be here.”

Guests are said to have been served a series of Heston’s signature dishes from his restaurants including jelly of oyster and passion fruit, meat fruit, triple-cooked chips.

Candles were also reportedly on display that turned out to be edible.

The chef was married to first wife, Zanna, from 1989 to 2016 and the couple had three children.

It was followed by a relationship with US food writer Suzanne Pirret from 2011 to 2015, and three years later Heston was said to have got married to Stephanie Gouveia, with whom he shares a five-year-old child.

The Maldives ceremony was later said by the Mail not to have been legally binding.

Heston met Malanie while she was working at a hotel in French Alps ski resort Val-d’Isere, where he was staying for a Christmas holiday with his table-tennis coach.

He announced in January he had proposed to her, telling the Daily Mail Diary: “I have found my other half. I am going to get officially married to Melanie.”
