The ITV magazine show bagged the 2021 Television and Radio Industries Club (TRIC) award for Best Daytime Show on Wednesday (15.09.2021) which follows on from their win at the NTAs and the Television Choice Awards.

The telly favourites were keen to thank their audience for their continuing support and their votes as they opened 'This Morning' on Thursday (16.09.21).

Phillip, 59, said: "Yesterday we were rewarded with this - 2021 TRIC award for Best Daytime show - voted for by you, so thank you very much indeed. What a week! It’s a hat-trick!”

He was joined in his thanks by Holly, 40, who was "amazed" at the win.

She said: "It’s amazing - that’s three awards in two weeks - we are very, very lucky! And it’s been a very long and tough 18 months, but we have got through it together.”

Viewers were then reminded of some of the best moments to have featured on the show during the last 18 months, which has faced several obstacles due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Phillip said: "It’s been confusing at times, it’s been frustrating and lonely for some, but every day we’ve tried to give you a voice and we hope we did just that. And at the same time, you have propped us up as well.”

Upon accepting his statuette at the TRIC ceremony, Phillip made reference to his decision to come out as during an emotional conversation with Holly on the 'This Morning' sofa in early 2020.

He said: "This is a big award for our show, thank you TRIC! And on a personal note, at the beginning of it all, I came out. The world went in!

"When you make a choice like that and suddenly the streets are empty and there's no one around. You're thinking, 'What the f*** did I just do?!'"

He also paid a loving tribute to Holly - who did not attend the event - describing her as his "best mate".
