Gary Lucy struggled with dating

The former 'Hollyoaks' star tied the knot with Natasha Grey in 2014 after more than a decade of dating and went on to have two children with her but has struggled with seeing new women since they called it quits in 2018 so signed up to E4 reality show 'Celebs Go Dating' to try his luck at meeting someone now.

He said: "I've had an awful experience of dating again, it's a whole new world now and when you're busy, where do you meet people? I'm a 40-year-old man now and I think there are a lot of people of my age, older and some younger, that kind of go s***, where do you go from here, where do you meet people? Where do you build a relationship, not meet people for a hook up, that was early 20s or late teens and I had no problems with that back then, I certainly had my cake and ate it."

The former 'EastEnders' actor appears to have formed love with 'Celebs Go Dating' co-star Laura Anderson - who is known for her stint on ITV reality show 'Love Island' and recently split from Another Level singer Dane Bowers - and went on to add that he "cannot trust" dating apps and is the "happiest" he has been in a long time.

He told The Sun newspaper: "But where do you do it, dating apps? friends who are single? it's very difficult. I wouldn't trust dating apps, how do you know who you're talking to, how do you know someone's intentions, it could be a catfish I'm not there to waste my time or anyone else's, I don't like upsetting people. I'm not there to waste my time or anyone else's, I don't like upsetting people. I'm not there to waste my time or anyone else's, I don't like upsetting people.

"I've spent the last three and a half years travelling down, seeing the kids every other weekend, travelling back up to Liverpool working and I felt like I had no time to meet anyone or have those date nights and enjoy life experiences I was like f*** it and I signed up; it was a really mad experience!"
