ITV have decided to shake-up their scheduling for today (24.06.16) in order to screen the coverage of the UK's shock decision to leave the European Union and David Cameron 's subsequent resignation as Prime Minister.

A statement on the official Twitter account of the mid-morning show, fronted by Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, said: "As Britain has voted to leave the European Union ITV will be replacing @itvthismorning with continuous news coverage of the historic vote."

And a similar post was put out on the online account of the panellist show minutes after, reading: "Due to the # Brexit vote, @ITV will be airing rolling news coverage this morning and there will be no live Loose Women today. (sic)."

However, the channel's decision to axe the two live shows hasn't gone down too well with some disappointed viewers.

One fan wrote in response to the 'Loose...' ladies' slot being replaced: "I'm not happy about that I love my girls x"

Another added: "That is ridiculous @loosewomen should have had their say @ITV instead of all the usual #talkingheads who got it wrong #loosewomen rock."

While another viewer wrote: "Shame, I would have loved to have heard what you girls had to say on it!!!! Feisty!! (sic)"
