Jack Maynard's shock exit from 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here' was a last minute decision following tense "crisis talks" with producers.

The YouTube vlogger and younger brother of singer Conor Maynard, left the ITV show last night (21.11.17) after just three days in the jungle, following outrage concerning derogatory comments he had made on social media in the past.

But a show insider revealed to The Daily Mirror newspaper the decision to give Jack - who has over 1.2 million followers on YouTube - the boot was one that bosses agonised over until just a few hours before the show was due to air.

A source said: "Producers were locked in crisis talks for hours.

"ITV bosses were forced into a tense conversation about whether to kick out Jack.

"And they finally decided they had no choice but to let him go from the show."

Following Jack's exit from the jungle an ITV spokesman said: "Due to circumstances outside camp, Jack has had to withdraw from the show."

Whilst a spokesman for the star added: "In the last few days Jack has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on 'I'm a Celebrity ... Get Me Out Of Here' - filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.

"Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show. Jack agrees with this decision which was made by his representatives and ITV and thanks everyone who has supported him in the show this far."

After he headed into the jungle, old tweets posted from Jack's Twitter account used words that he himself called "inflammatory" and "insulting".

In one post made back in June 2011, he said he was "at alices with my n****s!" and he also repeatedly called people "retards".
