The 'Coronation Street' actress was left devastated when her sister's plan to head to the UK last year had to be cancelled due to the pandemic, so she would love to head Down Under to see her relative when COVID restrictions lift.

When asked if she has a holiday planned, she said: "It feels like a distant dream right now doesn’t it?

"I would love to, but I don’t think it's going to happen anytime soon.

"I'd love to go to Australia to visit my sister. She was supposed to come over last year but it didn’t happen because of COVID. I've not seen her for a long time.

"Just some sun would be great."

Over in Weatherfield, the 42-year-old star has enjoyed revisiting her cobbles character Leanne Battersby's no-nonsense side, after she went up against drug lord Harvey Gaskell (Will Mellor).

Quizzed on whether she has enjoyed the return of "feisty" Leanne, she said: "Yes, I’ve always fought for it and bring that hardness to it.

"You read on social media people’s opinions are split - they either love or hate her, and I understand that completely.

"But in this situation, I feel having been through Oliver's death, that has made her strong again.

"She's had to fight for her life.

"She is bringing up Simon, who is getting older now, but she will always have that fight in her that she had as a kid.

"I think that will always be there and I’ve enjoyed playing it."
