The 32-year-old reality star was just 10 years old when his mother Tina took her own life and he admitted he'd like to draw on his own experiences and explore how other young people have been affected by such losses.

He told the Metro newspaper's Guilty Pleasures column: "I would love to do something with younger adults who have dealt with loss."

Last weekend, the former 'TOWIE' star paid tribute to Tina on 'Dancing On Ice' after the contestants were tasked with creating a personal routine, and he thinks Tina was "definitely looking down" over him as he skated with partner Vanessa Bauer.

He said: "My mum passed me a silk scarf when I was young… I told my nan about it. She brought the scarf, had it in her pocket.

"I do have them, sort of, 'feels' sometimes. I’m not really superstitious but I do believe my mum is looking over me. I feel she’d be proud. She would have loved to have been there."

Joey found it "extremely difficult" to go through with the routine because he was so emotional.

He said: "It was extremely difficult to do that, to be honest, because I had this flooding of emotions beforehand.

"When I got asked to do a personal skate, the first person that come to my mind was my mum. But it still is very painful, very raw.

"I don’t think I’ll fully ever properly get over that situation."

Meanwhile, Joey and Vanessa will compete in this weekend's 'Dancing On Ice' final against gymnast Nile Wilson and drag star The Vivienne and their professional partners, and the reality TV favourite is planning to hit the gym hard ahead of his performance.

He said of one of his routines: "I’m Hercules in it, so I can’t wait… Hercules is a bit bigger than me but, if I go down the gym today and tomorrow, I might match him!"
