The 62-year-old musician will join other famous telly addicts for the upcoming Channel 4 series - which sees stars react to British TV from their own homes - and it's said he's a huge fan of the show.

A source told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre TV column: "Jools loves 'Gogglebox' and has been wanting to get involved for a while. It was a struggle with his schedule but he has found time to appear.

"Jools is a real character and is very funny so the producers are excited to see what he can bring to the table."

The news comes shortly after it was revealed former England football manager Harry Redknapp and his wife Sandra will be joining the show starting on 5th June.

Other couples including Joe Swash and Stacey Solomon, Denise van Outen and her partner Eddie Boxshall, and Nick Grimshaw and his niece Liv, will all be returning for a new run.

'Love Island' narrator Iain Stirling and presenter Laura Whitmore, boxer Nicola Adams and her partner Ella Baig, and Radio 2 DJ Zoe Ball and her son Woody Cook - who appeared on Channel 4 reality show 'The Circle' - will also be taking part in the star-studded programme.

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that Nicole Appleton and Melanie Blatt have signed up for another stint.

The 45-year-old star - who was married to Liam Gallagher between 2008 and 2014 - and Melanie, 45, are said to have agreed a deal that will see the All Saints bandmates return to the sofa.

A source explained: "Nicole and Melanie were hilarious when they gave the show a whirl and bosses were desperate to get them back."
