'The Only Way is Essex' bosses have blocked Lauren Pope from signing a "six-figure" sponsorship deal.
The reality star was reportedly set to become the new face of a US vodka brand, but she was forced to drop the contract after chiefs at TV production company Lime Pictures warned her to scrap the idea or quit the show because it didn't tie in with her on-screen image.
A source told The Sun newspaper: "Lauren was excited as this was a huge deal for her.
"It's a new vodka drink coming into the market - and to be honest, it was just the kind of drink they'd all get stuck into on 'TOWIE'.
"Lime Pictures had to be consulted and they weren't happy about it.
"They said it wasn't right for someone on 'TOWIE' to be associated with an alcoholic brand like that. So basically, it was do the deal and go or don't and stay. Lauren loves being on the show, so decided to stay.
"But it has hit her in the pocket - it was a six-figure deal on the table."
However, Lime Pictures have allowed the DJ to perform at events run by the firm, which has brought out the new alcoholic beverage 88 Delicious.
A spokesman said: "We look at each request for sponsorship and/or endorsement.
"On this occasion, we did not feel elements of the deal were appropriate for the 'TOWIE' brand."
A pal of the brunette beauty said: "Lauren's understandably gutted she can't do the deal.
"It does seem odd that a show that is basically set in nightclubs and bars can't have its stars endorsing alcohol.
"But she loves being on 'TOWIE' so didn't want to quit over it.
"She's a smart girl and there will be other opportunities coming along the line."
