Lisa Riley wouldn't be able to take part in 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!' because she would be "so bored".

The 'Emmerdale' actress recently revealed she had signed another contract to remain in the ITV soap, and she believes playing Mandy Dingle is a lot more stimulating than it would be sitting in the jungle for days.

She said: "I love playing Mandy so much, that’s why I keep turning down other good roles.

"They offer me 'I’m A Celebrity' every year and every year I say ‘no’.

"It’s not because of all the creepy crawlies or the challenges, I actually wouldn’t mind those.

"I would just be so bored in there. I have so much energy from the moment I wake up to the moment I go to sleep.

"Being sat in camp all day would send me crazy. I would need to be stimulated all the time."

But the 45-year-old star would love to appear in Netflix period drama 'Bridgerton'.

She added to the Daily Star Sunday newspaper: "The only thing I have never done which I would absolutely love to do is appear in a period drama. I think I would be perfect for it. I have pale skin and the right look for it.

"I absolutely love 'Bridgerton' and would love a role if one came up."

Last month, Lisa admitted she has received "loads of offers" from TV dramas.

She said: "It’s nice to know that I get loads of offers from other dramas, but I am happy to say no at the moment because I am super, super happy.

"I am really proud to play Mandy. She is starting to get iconic soap status and I love that."

But she penned a new 'Emmerdale' contract to remain in the show until at least next year, because she loves playing her character so much.

She said: "I honestly still pinch myself that I get to play such an amazing character as Mandy.

"I can’t put into words how much I love it.

"I’ve just re-signed my contract and I have no plans to leave."

Lisa first played Mandy from 1995 to 2001, and she made a long-awaited return in 2019.
