The former 'TOWIE' star, 37, is said to have left a tap running in TV presenter Gethin's room, which he was using at the BBC's studio in Salford before guest hosting the magazine-style programme, but Mark's time on screen was by no means a washout.

A TV insider told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: "Far from being a washout, he was superb during his time on screen and everyone thought he did a great job standing in for Gethin."

Despite the flood, 'Morning Live' bosses are expected to ask Mark back onto the show.

The insider added: "So this slight hiccup was easily overlooked by the show’s bosses and he is likely to be asked back at some point.

"But Gethin might ask that he uses someone else’s dressing room next time!"

A BBC spokesman said: "We don’t comment on leaks."

Last month, it was confirmed Mark's BBC travel series, 'A Wright Family Holiday', which he fronted last summer as he explored domestic tourist attractions with his brother Josh and dad Mark Sr., wouldn't be returning for a second run.

The BBC confirmed: "'A Wright Family Holiday' was commissioned as a one off."

An insider told The Sun newspaper's TV Biz column: "The series was always going to be a suck-it-and-see job.

"If it went down well with audiences and got healthy viewing figures, the BBC would have been tempted to maybe explore another series.

"The Wrights would have been up for it, but it wasn’t to be."

However, the door is not closed and the broadcaster is open to the prospect of more projects.

The source added: "The consolation, though, is that the BBC is still keen to work with them and they could be offered another type of show in the future."
