The 'All About That Bass' hitmaker is set to claim a red chair alongside coaches Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am and Olly Murs after Jennifer Hudson announced on Thursday (26.09.19) evening that she was stepping away from the singing show.

Meghan said: "I am so excited and honoured to join Sir Tom, will.i.am and Olly Murs as the new Coach on The Voice UK! It's a dream come true and I can't wait to sit in the chair with my own button and listen to some incredible new talent!"

And, although she's the youngest of the coaches, bosses are confident that those who join her team will be lucky to have such a talented person guiding them.

Katie Rawcliffe, Head of Entertainment, ITV said: "Meghan Trainor is such an exciting addition to 'The Voice UK'. She has blown us away with her energy and enthusiasm and, although our youngest coach, an impressive career in music set to inspire all who join Team Meghan.

"We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks, love and luck for the future to Jennifer Hudson. She has been a tremendous coach, loved by viewers and the singers she has worked with during her time on the show."

The 25-year-old singer is certainly experienced when it comes to mentoring and judging as she has been a judge on FOX's singing contest 'THE FOUR: Battle for Stardom' for two seasons alongside Sean 'Diddy' Combs and DJ Khaled.

Jennifer - who has been on the panel since 2017 - announced on Twitter that she was stepping away from the show as she's busy preparing for the release of the film adaptation of 'Cats' and is filming the Aretha Franklin biopic, 'Respect'.

She said: "Hey y'all! I'm sad to share that I won't be able to join my friends in the red chair for @thevoiceuk this season due to filming commitments here in the States. I sure will miss my UK family, but I'll be back soon for 'Cats' and 'Respect'! Throw some shoes for me in the mean time. (sic)"

Filming for 'The Voice UK' kicks off this October with the series set to launch on ITV in 2020.
