Hosted by Steve Jones, the competitive elimination format show will see cooking duos come together to create pop-up restaurants in their own homes for the judges and rival contestants to try.

A £10,000 prize is on the line, as well as the title of Britain's Best Home Chef.

Host Steve Jones said: "This show is about real people making really great food; showcasing the very best of regional produce and pride in local dishes. Britain has got such a rich and diverse food heritage and I can't wait to get my teeth into it."

Executive producer Eve Kay adds: "Pop up restaurants are the latest addition to the UK's ongoing food revolution and a brilliant way for amateur chefs to show off their cooking skills and passion for food. An entertaining national competition pitching different regions against each other will bring out the best in British food and should discover exciting new food talent."

Sky Living first purchased the format rights to My Kitchen Rules and broadcast their one and only series on January 25, 2014, hosted by cook and author Lorraine Pascale alongside chef Jason Atherton.

The 30-episode series has been commissioned by Syeda Irtizaali, commissioning editor for entertainment at Channel 4 daytime. It will broadcast later this year.
