Marvel are really gearing up for the release of Jessica Jones on Netflix this autumn, today (Oct 1) releasing a brand new 50 second teaser for the forthcoming series taking place in the same Marvel Cinematic Universe as the highly successful Daredevil.

Still, despite the release the audience is never given a shot of Krysten Ritter's face in the new trailer, with the actress and her character instead building on their mystery and intensity in the lead-up to the big season one release later this year.

What we can see however is a bar housing an old jukebox, roughed-up civilians and a whole lot of alcohol, whilst Joan Jett's 'Bad Reputation' plays in the background and sets the perfect scene.

With a rough and dark tone quite clear from the moment Daredevil debuted, this looks set to continue into Jessica Jones' world, and showrunner Melissa Rosenberg has made some comments about what we can expect when we finally get to learn more about this version of Jessica.

"Jessica Jones is a brawler," she explained. "She gets drunk, she gets pissed off, and boom, you're down. She doesn't wear a costume, she doesn't have a mask. She's just who she is."

Largely focusing on a female main character is pretty much new ground for Marvel, and so they're going to have to deliver in a stellar and immense way if they're to make a good impression. Premiering in less than two months, we can admit that they're certainly on the right track.

Daredevil season one is available now on Netflix, with Jessica Jones making its debut on November 20.
