The 'X Factor' host, 31, was forced to follow a low-carb diet while he was fronting the ITV singing show this winter, but he's thrilled he can finally relax his regime over the next few weeks and demolish Christmas puddings and chocolate.

He explained: "I'm looking forward to seeing how much I can eat and how long I can sleep for over Christmas."

But, despite his determination to polish off a tray of roast potatoes, the handsome singer is adamant he won't allow himself to pile on too many pounds as he believes his career is more successful when he stays in shape.

He said: "I sleep eight hours a day and get one hour training a day. Being on TV, a singer and artist it's important. I look at my 'Up' video I did with Demi Lovato last year and I was quite big and chunky. I held it well but in this job you want to keep the fans interested in you and find you attractive."

And Olly will certainly have time to focus on himself as he recently split from his girlfriend Francesca Thomas.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: "It's the first time I've been single over the festive period for three years. To get through the break-up I've had to throw myself into work."
