The former 'X Factor' runner-up - who was hired as a presenter on last year's ITV series before being dropped this year - would love to secure a gig on the BBC ballroom and latin show next year in aggravate the judge.

Speaking on BBC Radio 1's 'Breakfast Show' on Tuesday (01.11.16), he said: "I've always been open to the idea of 'Strictly...', I went down there this year and did a performance and part of me just enjoyed the whole atmosphere, it was really lovely down there and part of me was like I'll just to do it to wind up Simon Cowell.

"Honestly, I actually just really enjoyed the atmosphere, and learning them sort of dances would be quite fun, but I don't think I will be doing it anytime soon but never say never. I would do it just to be cheeky and have a bit of fun, he (Simon) would be like 'You're not doing 'Strictly...' are you' and I'd be like yes I am."

However, although the 32-year-old singer would like to take part in the dancing competition, the 'You Don't Know Love' hitmaker is adamant he's "done" with reality TV shows and would never do 'I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!', despite rumours he's signed up to the forthcoming series, because he wouldn't eat the bugs.

He explained: "I'm not doing 'I'm A Celebrity...', I couldn't eat the things they do in the jungle, absolutely no go.

"I think I've done my fair share of reality shows, I'm just concentrating on my music now."

The star also insisted that he enjoys going back to the 'X Factor' stage, which made him famous in 2009 when he came second to former contestant Joe McElderry, and is enjoying watching rapper wannabe Honey G.

He said: "This year is a crazy year, Honey G seems to be the biggest act on it which is bonkers. I think the show is fun, I'm always a big of 'X factor' because obviously it started my whole career for me."
