The 26-year-old revealed the news on his YouTube channel, saying: “I'm going to be on ITV’s Dancing on Ice!

“This is a really cool thing. I’ve certainly not done much ice-skating but I am so excited for the opportunity.

“I’m so excited to get into that routine and to feel like an athlete again.”

Team GB athlete Nile added about what he hopes to bring to the series: “My biggest goal on the show is to do something that no-one has ever done before!”

He is joining a line-up of including ‘Love Island’ winner Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, 28, former footballer John Fashanu, 60, and 50-year-old actress and DJ Patsy Palmer.

The Sun has reported Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton, 43, is also to be announced as one of this year’s contestants, after she recovered from her secret drunk and drugs addictions.

A source told the publication: “Michelle really impressed the ‘Dancing on Ice’ team and they were delighted to be able to offer her a place on this year’s show.

“Michelle has been through a lot over the past few years and she has overcome a lot to make it this far. She wants to push herself and make her children proud of her.”

‘Dancing on Ice’, created and produced by Lifted Entertainment, returns to ITV and ITVX in 2023 with its new cast.

ITV says 11 celebrities will prepare to embark on the ultimate challenge as they take to the ice each week, skating live in a bid to impress both the panel and viewers at home.

Phillip Schofield, 60, and his ‘This Morning’ co-host Holly Willoughby, 41, will return to host the show, which they have fronted together since 2006, apart from when Christine Lampard, 43 joined Phillip from 2012 to 2014.
