Patrick Robinson has said Strictly Come Dancing is a "popularity competition".
The 50-year-old actor - who was voted out of the competition this weekend when he was up against Coronation Street's Natalie Gumede and professional dancer Artem Chigvintsev - thinks the popularity of the stars on the show impacts who the public vote for, when they should be judged on their dance skills alone.
He told The Sun newspaper: "One of the things I've always said is that it is a popularity competition.
"There are certain people who have a load of popularity. Dave Myers did very well considering he wasn't that gifted in terms of the dancing - I'm sure he won't mind me saying that.
"He did quite a few weeks because of his popularity. It's part and parcel of the whole thing."
Patrick is backing Natalie Gumede to win since he believes she's the best dancer but reckons Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Abbey Clancy and Susanna Reid may have a better chance of winning.
He added: "The one way I would judge it is on the dancing - and Natalie is, as far as I can see, by far the most gifted dancer. So in true essence of it being a dancing competition, I would say she should win.
"The public has the vote so it's whoever they like. They may not warm to certain people and they may warm to others.
"I would assume in terms of popularity it's either Abbey, Sophie or Susanna who's going to win."
