The 44-year-old former health secretary is starring on the ITV show, and he's given viewers an insight into what they can expect from him during his time in the jungle.

Matt - who is joining the show alongside Seann Walsh - said: "When I'm in camp, people will just see the real me.

"Survival in the jungle is a good metaphor for the world I work in. People will see me warts and all, will see the human side of the guy behind the podium."

Matt has also insisted that he's fully committed to the series, despite the controversy that surrounds him.

He explained: "Lots of people have a view on me from being health secretary in the pandemic dealing with some very difficult issues, but that's not the whole story.

"I am looking forward to throwing myself into it all like I do everything in life."

Seann, 36, revealed that he's keen to "change opinions" after he was pictured kissing professional dancer Katya Jones during his 'Strictly Come Dancing' stint in 2018.

Meanwhile, Boy George and Charlene White clashed during the latest episode of the show.

The pop star called Charlene "controlling" and said she "rubbed [him] up the wrong way" as they clashed over camp roles.

He told Charlene: "You’re very strong. Listen, you’re such a beautiful contradiction because you’re like tough, and then you’ve got this beautiful side to you. But it’s challenging for me. I have to say it’s challenging for me."

Elsewhere, Babatunde Aleshe excelled during the Horrifying Heights challenge.

The 36-year-old comedy star confronted his fears and grabbed nine stars for the camp.
