The 55-year-old entrepreneur has revealed he clashed was an unnamed member of the show's panel during filming - but he's refused to name who it was.

He said: "When we're inside the Den there's no illusion. You're a Dragon who is there to win. It's as simple as that. This year, one Dragon didn't speak to me for an hour after I won a pitch!

"There were a couple of Dragons out for my lunch this time, which was a bit cheeky.

"The quality of the businesses really heightened the level of competitiveness in the Den."

Peter appears on the panel alongside Sara Davies, Deborah Meaden, Tej Lalvani and Touker Suleyman.

And according to Sara, the new series is more heated than the last one.

She said: "It gets more heated than last series.

"This series I was comfortable being more aggressive in fighting for investments."

Deborah, 62 - who joined the show in 2006 - admitted the Den is a competitive environment and that none of the Dragons are inclined to "hold back".

She told the BBC: "We are competing for businesses and that can get heated.

"None of us hold back … we haven't got to where we are in life by being shrinking violets."

Meanwhile, Peter previously offered advice to entrepreneurs pitching on the show.

He explained: "Get it pitch perfect. The pitch has to be short, concise, to the point and most importantly you’ve got to get everything you want to say said in a very short space of time, in two minutes.

"You have to do it with confidence and make sure you smile. Business is about making money but it is also about having fun, so get your character across."
