Peter Kay is set to revive 'Phoenix Nights' as a series of televised live shows for Comic Relief.

The comedian is reportedly planning to bring back club owner Brian Potter as his popular creation makes a TV return as part of the 'Red Nose Day' telethon, and it is said 2015 will be "a massive year" for the star and his fans.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "He has had some time off but can't wait to get back making people laugh which is something he love to do.

"Next year is going to be a massive year for Peter and his fans."

It is said the 41-year-old funnyman is in talks to bring back his popular sitcom - which first aired in 2001 and ran for two series - as seven live shows, which would be filmed for Comic Relief.

Meawhile, Peter will also return to BBC1 next year with his new series 'Car Share', which follows throw-together-pair John and Kayleigh as they travel to work in an out-of-town supermarket.

The pair have been forced together by a company car share scheme, and each journey will bring a new insight into their lives and unlikely relationship.
