The former 'Good Morning Britain' presenter spoke out after it was confirmed this week that the former Health Secretary - who Piers clashed with a number of times while interviewing him on 'GMB' amid the coronavirus pandemic - will appear in this year's series of the ITV show.

Piers said: "Few politicians in modern history have failed harder and more often than Matt Hancock.

"[He will] spend several weeks in a jungle in Australia, pocketing a massive fee on top of his MP’s salary, eating kangaroo testicles for public delectation.

"I never thought I’d say this, but I actually feel sorry for the kangaroo testicles."

Piers also admitted he hopes Matt "stays" in the Australian jungle.

Speaking on his TalkTV show 'Piers Morgan Uncensored', he added: "I may shock you now, Mr Hancock, because I’m actually glad you’re going to a remote, tarantula-infested jungle on the other side of the world.

"On behalf of the entire British public, I think I’m safe in saying, I hope you stay there."

Matt has come under fire for his decision to take part in the show while he is a serving MP, and he was suspended from the Conservative Party on Tuesday (01.11.22) after his appearance came to light.

But he has defended himself, insisting he is taking part in the programme to "show the human side of politicians" and to raise awareness of dyslexia, after he was diagnosed with the learning difficulty aged 18.

Matt is expected to enter the jungle as a latecomer alongside comedian Seann Walsh.

The series will get underway on Sunday (06.11.22), with an initial 10 celebrities - pop icon Boy George, 'Coronation Street' star Sue Cleaver, 'Hollyoaks' actor Owen Warner, former England rugby player Mike Tindall, radio presenter Chris Moyles, England Lioness Jill Scott, comedian Babatunde Aleshe, former 'Love Island' star Olivia Attwood, and TV presenters Charlene White and Scarlette Douglas.
