Speculation has been rife about where the former 'Good Morning Britain' presenter - who quit the show last night (09.03.21) following controversial comments about the Duchess of Sussex, following her tell-all chat with Oprah Winfrey - will do next, and according to bookmaker Star Sports, he looks set to join the upcoming British TV channel.

The bookie has priced Piers at 8/11 to sign for the channel - which is chaired by journalist and broadcaster Andrew Neil, and is due to launch later this year on Freeview, Sky, YouView, Freesat and Virgin Media - in 2021, but the price has already been slashed from 7/4 last night when ITV announced he had quit 'GMB'.

Star Sports also have Piers at 5/1 to join talkRADIO as a regular presenter, but he is the same price to return to 'Good Morning Britain' - on which he spent nearly six years co-hosting alongside Susanna Reid - as a permanent presenter.

That looks unlikely after ITV revealed last night Piers had decided to depart the show following discussions with the bosses, and he was replaced by Ranvir Singh for this morning's show.

They said in a statement: "Following discussions with ITV, Piers Morgan has decided now is the time to leave 'Good Morning Britain'.

"ITV has accepted this decision and has nothing further to add."

Since then, ITV News royal editor Chris Ship has claimed Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, "formally filed a complaint" to ITV about Piers.

Taking to Twitter on Wednesday morning, he wrote: "So ... the Duchess of Sussex formally filed a complaint to @ITV on Monday.

"It’s thought to have been sent to the broadcaster’s CEO.

"Meghan raised concerns about how @piersmorgan’s words affect the issue of mental health and what it might do to others contemplating suicide (sic)"

Piers said on 'Good Morning Britain' on Monday (08.03.21) that he "didn’t believe a word" of what Meghan told Oprah on Sunday evening (07.03.21).

In the interview, Meghan had revealed how she "didn’t want to be alive" after receiving heavy public scrutiny.

On Tuesday's (09.03.21) 'GMB', Piers clashed with weather presenter Alex Beresford over his Meghan comments, resulting in Piers storming out of the studio for a breather.

Star Sports have priced up a "celebrity fight" happening between the pair at 16/1.

What's more, Piers - the former editor of the Daily Mirror newspaper - is 8/1 to become the editor of a tabloid newspaper, and he is 12/1 to appear as an 'I'm A Celebrity'.

Star Sports have priced up 'GMB' host Ben Shephard as 9/2 favourite to permanently replace Piers - who co-hosted the breakfast show with Susanna from Monday to Wednesday - with Adil Ray and Alex closely behind at 6/1, followed by Ranvir at 8/1.

Some of the outsiders include Rylan Clark-Neal at 16/1 and Eamonn Holmes at 20/1, as well as some of the more unlikely candidates - Oprah and Gary Lineker, who are both 100/1.
