Piers Morgan has agreed to partner Giovanni Pernice on 'Strictly Come Dancing', in what would be the show's first all-male pairing.

The 'Good Morning Britain' presenter looks set to swap grilling politicians on the breakfast show for donning sequins on the dancefloor, and pro dancer Giovanni is keen to put Piers through his paces.

During an appearance on 'Loose Women', Giovanni was asked if he would be prepared to partner Piers in this year's series, and show anchor Jane Moore then revealed she had asked Piers the same question shortly before the lunch-time show.

Jane then read out a message she received from him today (17.02.21), which read: "I'm ready. I've already done a same-sex sizzle - I did the Pasodoble on the dancefloor with Bruno [Tonioli] at my 50th, and he said I had magnificent moves.

"I think he also called me a stylish stallion, too."

Giovanni replied: "Perfect. I think it would be interesting to see Piers, because he's a very strong character, and I'm a massive fan of his career.

"So it would be interesting to spend time with him in the studio.

"I'm sure he can dance."

The 30-year-old pro dancer - who partnered Piers' 'GMB' colleague Ranvir Singh on last year's series - admitted he is up for the "challenge" of being part of a same-sex partnership.

Giovanni also praised former boxer Nicola Adams and pro dancer Katya Jones, who made 'Strictly' history last year as the first same-sex pairing on the programme, but they had to depart the series early after Katya tested positive for coronavirus.

He added: "I'm up for the challenge. I'm up for something different.

"Last year, Nicola and Katya did a fantastic job. It was a shame what happened that they had to leave the show.

"I think we are ready for new things to challenge ourselves as well, because obviously dancing with a man will challenge me more than anybody else as you have to make the choreography suitable for both of us.

"I'm used to doing it with a girl but with a boy it would be interesting to see.

"The BBC knows what they are doing.

"If they came to me and said, 'Giovanni, we'd love you to dance with a man', I'd definitely do it."
