The 81-year-old TV star makes a cameo appearance in 'Red Notice', when Gal Gadot's character is seen watching an episode of 'The Great British Bake Off' where Prue enjoys a cake inspired by Queen legend Freddie Mercury.

With a budget of £145 million, the action comedy which sees Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson as an FBI agent agent who reluctantly teams up with a renowned art thief - is thought to be the most-expensive Netflix movie ever made.

The Netflix hit - which has broken streaming records in becoming the most-watched film on the platform on day of release - also features an appearance from pop star Ed Sheeran, 30.

Director Rawson Marshall Thurber told GamesRadar+: 'It’s actually my favourite part of the movie. Ed, from the very first pitch, was who I wanted. When the time came, I had a mutual friend who put us in touch and I emailed Ed – who is the loveliest person on the planet, by the way – and I sent him a picture of my notebook when I was writing the pitch. It had his name in it, so he knew I wasn’t fooling."

For 'Bake Off' fans, Prue's surprise cameo in the blockbuster will be a double helping of a treat as it comes shortly after the news that the Channel 4 favourite has been renewed for a further three years.

Ian Katz, chief content officer at Channel 4, said: "We are thrilled that Channel 4 will continue to serve up 'Bake Off’s unique combination of warmth, humour and soggy bottoms for years to come. "'Bake Off' is all about optimism, celebrating eccentricity and bringing the nation together, precisely what a publicly owned Channel 4 is here to do."
