The support officer at City University in London is being bombarded by his colleagues and students in the corridors at work after they recognised him whipping up a storm in the famous tent with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood recently.

The vegan baker - who was voted out on Botanical Week on Wednesday (28.09.16) - said: "At work, when people come to me for advice, about 80 per cent of them want to talk about '...Bake Off'! They are staring at you for a while, trying to work out where they know you from, and then the penny drops. I have had students chasing me down the corridor asking for a selfie!"

Rav, 28, was overwhelmed at first but gets why the public are so "passionate" about the BBC One show, which is set to move over to Channel 4 next year as part of a new deal with Love Productions, and is enjoying the new attention.

He told the Daily Star newspaper: "The Twitter explosion has been really exciting and the amount of love from the word go was kind of overwhelming at first.

"But I think it's symbolic of how people are passionate about the show. I went out with a smile on my face."

And it's unlikely the attention will subside anytime soon as Rva is set to appear on 'Extra Slice' on Friday and is booked in for a string of interviews.

He wrote on Twitter on Thursday (29.09.16): "On my way to BBC Broadcasting House for interviews galore. With only 2 hours of sleep, this is going to be interesting! (sic)"
