'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' have reportedly signed Rebecca Adlington to star in the show.

The Olympic gold medallist is set to join the jungle and get stuck into the infamous Bushtucker Trials - which see stars eating kangaroo penises and witchetty grubs in order to win meals for camp - after agreeing to a deal which includes a reported £80,000 fee.

The 24-year-old swimmer previously claimed she would be much better suited to 'Strictly Come Dancing' as she's not a fan of creepy crawlies, but after the BBC show turned her down, ITV bosses jumped at the chance to get her on board the popular Australian jungle-based programme.

The blonde beauty - who won two gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Olympics - took a lot of persuading to join the reality show, but decided to take the leap with a new challenge.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "Becky is only young and keen to muck in and get herself out there.

"When you retire from professional sport you are constantly looking for new challenges.

"Competitive people don't just switch off once their playing days are over."

Other stars rumoured to be part of this year's 'I'm A Celebrity' line-up include Westlife Hunk Kian Egan, snooker legend Steve Davis, 'The Wright Stuff' host Matthew Wright, Emmerdale's Lucy Pargeter and 'The Only Way is Essex' lothario Joey Essex.

'I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!' will return to screens on November 17.
